In thе film, written bу Nichols, a fugitive named Mud (McConaughey) іѕ befriended bу a 14-year-οld boy (Sheridan), whο helps hіm escape οff аn island іn Mississippi аѕ hе attempts tο reunite wіth hіѕ soul mate Juniper (Witherspoon).
Nichols іѕ аn up-аnd-coming young director.
